Free Children's Book Week Events at Tattered Cover

Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10:30 am at our Colfax Avenue Store:

In honor of Children's Book Week, we'll host a special sock puppet storytime! Our young guests will make their very own sock puppets, and we'll read One Shoe Blues by Sandra Boynton in addition to some other children's favorites.

One Shoe Blues presents a thoroughly captivating story and a dazzling music video on an accompanying 12-minute DVD. Boynton writes, designs, and directs (her first film ever), King stars (singing, playing, and turning in a wry and brilliant comic acting performance), and exuberant Boynton sock puppets chime in.

Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 1:00 pm our Historic Lodo Store:
The Children’s Museum of Denver and its 39th Birthday Bash Committee present local celebrity and mom of two, Dayle Cedars of Channel 7News, reading the classic tale Peter Pan in honor of the Museum’s annual fundraiser.
Each year, the Birthday Bash draws inspiration from a classic children’s book. This year’s theme is “Never Never Grow Up,” inspired by The Adventures of Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie. This reading is geared to generate excitement about the upcoming fundraiser and serve as a nod to the importance of early literacy and reading to children.
