Meet The Author Tomorrow Night

Trixie and her family are off on a fantastic trip to visit her grandparents—all the way in Holland! But does Knuffle Bunny have different travel plans?

An emotional tour de force, Knuffle Bunny Free concludes one of the most beloved picture-book series in recent memory, with pitchperfect text and art, photos from around the world, and a stunning foldout spread, culminating in a hilarious and moving surprise that no child or parent will be able to resist.

Bestselling, award-winning author Mo Willems has created an epic love story as only he can, filled with the joys and sadness of growing up —and the unconditional love that binds a father, mother, daughter, and a stuffed bunny.

Tomorrow at 6:00pm at our Highlands Ranch store:

Beloved children’s author and illustrator Mo Willems will join us to read from and sign Knuffle Bunny Free ($17.99 HarperCollins), the final book in his critically-acclaimed Knuffle Bunny series. Mo and a special surprise traveling companion (just the right size for young ones to hug!) will visit, and Mo will read a selection of his books. Our young guests are invited to bring their very own special ‘stuffy’ and enjoy activities, giveaways, a reading by Mo, picture opportunities, and more! Free numbered tickets for the party and the booksigning line will be available on Tuesday, September 28, at 9:00 a.m., with the purchase of Knuffle Bunny Free at any Tattered Cover location. Each ticket will admit one adult and one child to the party and the signing line. Mo Willems will sign all books purchased at the party and one favorite brought from home. All ticket-holders are invited to visit
www.gomo.net prior to the event to download your very own passport and travel checklist. Don’t forget to bring them to the event!

This book is costs less than $11 on www.amazon.com hard cover (shipping is free is you buy $25 worth of books) and T&C is selling for over $17! Since when does a child HAVE to buy a book from an author - at over $17 no less (way more than the Amazon price) - to be able to meet the author? It seems that TC has gone so commercial that when authors visit to talk about their books the Q&A period is cut v. short by staff in order to allow max. time for the author to quickly sign and sell as many books as possible. This no longer is your friendly community neighborhood store! Charging readers for meeting an author: Uggh! By the way check the reviews on www.amazon.com.

Actually, never. The author talk and reading are free to the public. No purchase is required. True, Amazon has deep pockets and can afford to sell books at a loss because they are making up for it in other ways. We're just book sellers who are proud to bring 500-600 authors a year to our stores for our guests to meet, learn from, and enjoy for free. That's something Amazon will never be able to do.

To clarify another point, our standard, for many, many years, is to allow each author an hour to make their presentations and answer questions, though it's not unheard of for events to run quite late as conversations continue past that time.

We'd like to invite you to one of the 66 events we are offering at our stores this month alone--we think you'll find them quite welcoming, informative, and completely free.
