Pete finds Henry irresisitible too!

At least one of my colleagues has already blogged about the irresistibility of 'The
Irresistible Henry House.' I am also on board as to what a fine book this is.

Henry's father is unknown; his mother is unfit to raise a child. Henry therefore starts
out life in an orphanage, but is quickly leased out to a local college to act as a
'practice baby' for young women in a home economics class (Orphans acting as practice
babies occurred frequently until the mid-1960's.). Henry's life takes a sudden turn when
after the semester is over the 'practice house' decides to keep him.

This book follows Henry as he attempts to make sense of a life of fleeting attachments
while searching for an authentic bond he can only dream about. The adult Henry travels
throughout the 1960's to such cities as Los Angeles, London, Paris, and New York, but his
life doesn't truly begin until he sees 'irresisible' in another set of eyes.
