Pete on "Lightning"

The Handbook for Lightning Strike Survivors tells the story of human lightning rod Bekka Burke, and the heartbroken Buckley R. Pitank, wholost his mother to a horrific strike just steps from where he stood, helpless to save her. To deal with his pain, Buckley writes 'TheHandbook for Lightning Strike Survivors' publishing a scant 100 copies. But by chance a copy of the book ends up in the hands of the
one person who needs it the most, Bekka Burke, a two time strike survivor having difficulty coping with the effects from high voltagetraveling through her body.

The author does a wonderful job telling the story of the victims, those left behind to pick up the pieces, those shaking their heads asking why this happened and who is to blame? She also includes excerpts from Buckley's handbook, which contain lightning facts, lightning mysteries, victim recollections, and tips on how to keep
yourself from being struck.

Like a lightning strike, I hope this book comes out of nowhere and touches someone (though not electrically), maybe reaches down andtouches the one person who needs it the most.
