Shakespeare Makes The Playoffs by Ron Koertge
This marvelous new young adult title is the sequel to Koertge's Shakespeare Bats Cleanup and perfect for the baseball/love/spring/poetry set of which I am an enthusiastic member. I read both books yesterday and so now know the whole story and am completely charmed. Shakespeare is the nickname of a 14-year-old first baseman who writes poetry. The books are written in poetry of all forms, shapes and sizes and the forms are identified so I learned while I was reading a funny and dear story of baseball, family and young love. These two books can be recommended to girls and boys of all ages.
