Summer Reading Snapshots: What We Are Reading Now (part 2)

Mindy says:
"I just finished The Sleeping Beauty by Mercedes Lackey, a fun Sci-Fi/Fantasy take on various fairy tales & legends."

"Now I'm reading Rembrandt's Ghost by Paul Christopher. An action/adventure. Two co-heirs, an American Art Historian (young, beautiful, female) and  an English aristocrat (youngish, handsome, male, never quite lived up to his potential) must take possession of their inheritance within 15 days or forfeit all of it. One: a painting in London, two: a large home in Amsterdam, three: a tramp steamer soon to be docking in Singapore, four: a barely accessible piece of land in Borneo. Oh, and they're being pursued by several well-armed thugs who don't seem to want them to succeed."

Chuck says:

'The last book I finished was Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Awesome book for any nerd/geek who grew up in the 80s. The economy of the world has collapsed and most everyone lives in squalor. Most people spend their time (working, schooling, playing) online inside a virtual world called OASIS. The main action focuses on a contest inside OASIS setup by the now dead creator of OASIS where the prize is to inherit his vast fortune. Lots and lots of references to old video games, movies, music,
and tv from the 80s, very nostalgic."  (Special note: you'll be hearing more about this book soon--it's got several TCers talking already!)

"Right now I am in the middle of Neal Stephenson's new book  Reamde  due in
September.  So far it is amazing. A publisher blurb calls it his 'most accessible' work yet and so far I tend to agree, which is cool because I already feel like he is pretty accessible author for non-sci-fi readers."

"In my 'to-read' pile are:"
